01 · Once, before our first game

Tournament paperwork

One manager or coach goes to the tournament tent at West Valley Events Complex. Marshals are available from 7:00 AM Saturday. Complete this before our first kickoff at 9:05 AM; plan to do it before gathering the team at 8:35 AM.

Bring the printed tournament roster and signed Player Pass Certification. The marshal locks the roster and hands out tournament pins. Players and parents skip this stop.

02 · Every game, 30 minutes before kickoff

Players and equipment

All players together plus one responsible adult report to the field marshal station nearest their field. Be in full kit with shoes tied and jerseys tucked in. The adult checks names and numbers, makes any corrections in ink, and signs the scorecard.

Tournament rules & forms

Manager checklist & player passes
  • Complete the GotSport roster by noon Thursday, Nov. 5 so the organizer can print the scorecards. The roster becomes final at the paperwork check-in; no additions afterward.
  • Print the roster with each player’s name, registration pass number and jersey number. Bring the signed certification. U9 is 7v7 with a maximum roster of 14.
  • Carry valid 2026–27 player passes throughout the event and have medical releases for all minors. Passes aren’t routinely presented at either check-in. The forwarded instructions and certification specify 2026–27; the rules PDF has an older season reference.
  • Produce requested passes within 30 minutes. The director lists send-offs (including last-game red cards), coach-led proof-of-age challenges before the second half, head injuries requiring medical treatment, and championship games. Bring the pass to the marshal immediately after a send-off; for a qualifying head injury, turn it in before leaving the field.
  • Missing the one-time paperwork check-in results in forfeits until it is completed.
U9 game rules & sidelines
  • Two 25-minute halves on a running clock, with a five-minute halftime. Size 4 ball; no heading. The director may shorten games as conditions require.
  • Home: white, north or east sideline. Away: teal, south or west sideline. Teams and their supporters use designated areas on their assigned side. Set the team bench on the assistant referee’s side; spectators stay clear of the area directly behind the assistant referee. Clean up your sideline after the game.
  • Win: 6; tie: 3; loss: 0. Add one point for each of the first three goals and one for a shutout (except 0–0). Deduct one for a red card or two yellows to the same player or coach in one game.
